The goal is to score more goals than the opposing team by shooting a puck into the opponent\u2019s net.<\/p>\n<h3>\ud83c\udfd2 Basic Rules<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Teams:<\/strong> Each team typically has <strong>6 players on the ice<\/strong>\u20145 skaters and 1 goaltender.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> Shoot the puck into the opponent\u2019s goal to score.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Game structure:<\/strong> A standard game is divided into <strong>three periods<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Movement:<\/strong> Players use ice skates to move around the rink and use hockey sticks to control and pass the puck.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Passing:<\/strong> Players can pass the puck to teammates using their sticks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shooting:<\/strong> Players attempt to score by shooting the puck past the opposing goaltender.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Body contact:<\/strong> Physical contact is permitted in some forms and under specific rules, depending on the competition and age level.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Offside:<\/strong> Players cannot enter the attacking zone ahead of the puck.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Icing:<\/strong> A player generally cannot shoot the puck from behind the center red line all the way past the opponent\u2019s goal line without it being touched, subject to the applicable rules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\ud83e\udd45 How a Team Scores<\/h3>\n<p>A goal is scored when the <strong>entire puck crosses the goal line<\/strong> between the goalposts and underneath the crossbar.<\/p>\n<h3>\ud83d\udc65 Player Positions<\/h3>\n<p>The main positions are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Goaltender (Goalie)<\/strong> \u2013 Protects the net.<\/li>\n<li><strong>\ud83d\udee1\ufe0f \u0e01\u0e2d\u0e07\u0e2b\u0e25\u0e31\u0e07 (Defensemen)<\/strong> \u2013 Defend their own zone and help move the puck forward.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forwards<\/strong> \u2013 Attack and create scoring opportunities. The three forward positions are <strong>center, left wing, and right wing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u26a1 How the Game Works<\/h3>\n<p>Players constantly transition between <strong>offense and defense<\/strong>. A team may try to maintain possession, pass the puck around the offensive zone, create a shooting opportunity, and score.
